When I first started this journey, I thought I needed a ton of expensive equipment to launch a successful dog accessory brand. But 13 days in, I’ve learned that with just a few reliable tools and a lot of consistency, you can make real progress.
Here’s a look at the key tools powering my process:
1. Bambu Lab 3D Printer
This is the backbone of my dog tag production. The Bambu Lab printer has been a game-changer — fast, precise, and reliable. Every custom dog tag I sell is designed and printed in-house, giving me full control over quality and personalization.
2. Paracord + Jig Setup
For the handmade collars, I use durable paracord and a simple jig to keep the knots tight and even. It’s a hands-on, time-consuming process, but it gives each collar that artisan touch that customers love.
3. Tinkercad for Design
I design all my 3D models using Tinkercad. It’s beginner-friendly, browser-based, and surprisingly powerful. Whether it’s a tag shape or a new charm idea, Tinkercad helps me bring it to life quickly.
4. My Custom Planner
Instead of using digital tools like Notion, I stay organized with a custom-designed paper planner. It’s tailored to my workflow — tracking daily tasks, orders, design ideas, and marketing plans. Sometimes pen and paper just work better!
What I’ve Learned So Far
You don’t need a high-end setup or massive workspace to get started. A few good tools — and a clear plan — can go a long way. Every item I create is the result of tools I trust and use daily.
Follow along as I continue this journey to launch my Etsy shop and share the full behind-the-scenes process.
